Spring Jalies and a classic new shirt dress

Every spring Jalie releases a new batch of patterns, and every year I see more and more of what I would describe as wearable basics/classics in the line. I generally pick a few patterns to try and after I see other sewists making their own versions of all the patterns, I usually end up making most of them myself.

This year I was struck by this dress, the Florence. I thought it would be a perfect match for the Bahama Linen. I made mine in a solid coral but I see there are some pattern versions of this fabric on the Fabricville website that I have my eye on for the next versions.

First the pattern:

I can’t decide if I like it best belted or not. Probably how I wear it will depend on how rushed I am when I go out the door. Both work. At any rate, definitely a great linen dress, and the first of several.
