That little detail makes all the difference and gives the jacket that polished \u201cexpert home-sewn\u201d feel\u2026 even though, let\u2019s be honest, getting those topstitches just right can be quite the challenge!<\/p>\n It was also my first time using a unisex pattern \u2014 a bit of a gamble! I went with the large size, thinking it would be just right\u2026 but surprise: the fit was very generous. Even with a 1-inch seam allowance, the jacket still turned out roomy. I could easily have gone with a medium.<\/p>\n I chose the collarless version with four buttons. I especially love the silver buttons I picked \u2014 they complement the black fabric and white stitching beautifully.<\/p>\n The fabric, a lovely blend of 80% cotton and 20% linen, was a real pleasure to work with. After a good pre-wash, everything came together smoothly. I made sure to mark every piece carefully \u2014 a key step, especially when it came to placing those large patch pockets on the front. Starting with precision really makes the final result look neat and professional.
