The goal wasn&#8217;t high-fashion; it was to create a versatile, everyday <strong>trucker-style jacket<\/strong>\u2014the perfect layer to throw over jeans and sneakers. They had a fantastic selection of 100% cotton plush corduroy and a variety of lining options\u2014from quilted to luxurious faux furs, soft flannels, and even stretchy boucles.<\/p>\n<p>I settled on a rich <strong>Meridian navy <a href=\"https:\/\/fabricville.com\/products\/solid-corduroy-meridian-046-beige?_pos=4&amp;_sid=86e48d7f7&amp;_ss=r\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">9-wale cotton corduroy<\/a><\/strong> for the exterior and a super cozy, <a href=\"https:\/\/fabricville.com\/products\/sherpa-solid-white?_pos=21&amp;_sid=d2ffb243d&amp;_ss=r\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>white sherpa fur<\/strong><\/a> for the body lining. To ensure the sleeves were easy to slip on and off, I chose a <a href=\"https:\/\/fabricville.com\/products\/quilted-polyester-lining-navy?_pos=5&amp;_sid=5169387db&amp;_ss=r\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>quilted lining<\/strong><\/a> for them. The final touch? However, <a href=\"https:\/\/fabricville.com\/products\/burda-6932-mens-jacket-coat-969320?_pos=17&amp;_sid=8d790ed86&amp;_ss=r\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Burda 6932<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/fabricville.com\/products\/burda-7142-mens-coat-dress-971420?_pos=15&amp;_sid=8d790ed86&amp;_ss=r\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Burda 7142<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/fabricville.com\/products\/me2036-mens-jacket-34-36-38-40-42?_pos=6&amp;_sid=8d790ed86&amp;_ss=r\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ME2036<\/a> are excellent options as well. But, of course, a true DIY jacket calls for customization! The one spot that demanded a bit of sewing ingenuity was the <strong>collar<\/strong>. The two layers\u2014corduroy and sherpa\u2014refused to cooperate, bunching and curling with every movement. My fix? I stitched a subtle, decorative line close to the fold, forcing the layers to stay put. They required patience and precision, but the uniformity and shape I achieved truly elevate the jacket.
