It&#8217;s perfect for creating blouses, flowing dresses, gathered skirts as well as pants or tops.&#8221;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I&#8217;m delighted with how well the fabric suits the pattern.\u00a0 Prewashing (by hand) removed the sizing, leaving it soft and supple.\u00a0 I did lengthen the body by 2.5 cm (1 inch), at 5 ft 10 I always add that amount.\u00a0 It took to pressing well, making the collar easy to construct.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-6569 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/DSCN6691-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"collar with buttonhole and button\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/DSCN6691-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/DSCN6691-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/DSCN6691-755x566.jpg 755w, https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/DSCN6691.jpg 1632w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>Garment #2, Jalie Renee 4018<\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-6573 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/DSCN6793-374x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Celebrating Spring and Summer fabrics; rayon and ponte\" width=\"374\" height=\"1024\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/DSCN6793-374x1024.jpg 374w, https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/DSCN6793-110x300.jpg 110w, https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/DSCN6793-755x2065.jpg 755w, https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/DSCN6793.jpg 855w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 374px) 100vw, 374px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Jalie Renee #4018 is described as a <strong><em>&#8220;high-waist (at navel), pull-on cigarette pants with concealed elastic at the waist and darts at the back&#8221;<\/em><\/strong>. &#8220;<em><strong>Drafted for stable knits like ponte di roma&#8221;<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I chose <a href=\"https:\/\/fabricville.com\/en\/catalogsearch\/result\/?q=AD425\"><strong>AD425<\/strong><\/a> for this pattern, and colour 002 was a perfect match with the tie dyed rayon poplin. <em><strong>This Ponte De Roma double knit fabric has a soft hand, drapes beautifully and has stretch across the fabric for comfort and ease.<\/strong><\/em> This medium weight knit is perfect for creating skirts, dresses, jackets, tops and more!\u00a0\u00a0The fiber content is 80% polyester, 16% viscose and 4% spandex.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I LOVE how well this fabric suits the pattern!\u00a0 They are so comfortable to wear, like pajamas but more dressed up.\u00a0 Ponte is easy to work with.\u00a0 I highly recommend it for a beginner to sewing with knits.\u00a0 It doesn&#8217;t fray or slither and slide away.\u00a0 <strong>A word of warning:<\/strong>\u00a0 &#8220;cigarette pants&#8221; are snug and fit close to the body!\u00a0 The light colour made my visual distractions are more obvious, i.e. panty lines and &#8220;fluff&#8221;. A very versatile pattern you can dress up or down.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Recommended fabric: Light-weight woven fabrics with a soft hand and nice drape.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">As soon as I saw the line art for this pattern &#8220;<strong>linen<\/strong>&#8221; screamed in my head! I chose &#8220;Slub Linen Look&#8221;\u00a0 AR808 in colour 004 for this dress and it&#8217;s a perfect combination.\u00a0 \u00a0<em><strong>This rayon fabric (<a href=\"https:\/\/fabricville.com\/en\/catalogsearch\/result\/?q=AR808\">AR808<\/a>)\u00a0 is light and has a fluid drape. Perfect to sew top, skirts, dresses and pants.\u00a0<\/strong> <\/em>Handwashing is recommended, it&#8217;s 85% rayon and 15% nylon, and 140 cm (55 inches) wide.\u00a0 This fabric was really easy to handle and sew.\u00a0 It pressed really well, but when it&#8217;s worn gets that sort of &#8220;rumpled&#8221; look that real linen is known for.\u00a0 Watch that you don&#8217;t iron it too hot, the nylon could stick to your iron.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-6577 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMG_0333-e1590762667852-1024x329.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"329\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMG_0333-e1590762667852-1024x329.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMG_0333-e1590762667852-300x96.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMG_0333-e1590762667852-755x242.jpg 755w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">A decorative stitch and variegated thread to jazzed it up the center front seam and the pocket hems.\u00a0 Prevent puckering by fusing lightweight interfacing underneath before stitching.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-6578\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/DSCN6724-232x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"516\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/DSCN6724-232x300.jpg 232w, https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/DSCN6724-793x1024.jpg 793w, https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/DSCN6724-755x974.jpg 755w, https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/DSCN6724.jpg 1989w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I made my own bias binding for the front neck and armholes out of a scrap of quilter&#8217;s cotton.\u00a0 It doesn&#8217;t show from the right side, but I like it.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-6579 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/belt.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"543\" height=\"388\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/belt.jpg 543w, https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/belt-300x214.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 543px) 100vw, 543px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The unique wrap around belt with the front tie is a great touch for a dressy look, but you could leave it off for more casual wear.<\/p>\n<h4>My disclaimer:<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Fabricville provided me with the fabric at no-charge in exchange for me writing this blog post.
