As a Jalie Ambassador I&#8217;ve sewn many of their styles, and they always work out sew well!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The fabrics I chose worked out perfectly for these patterns.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7224\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/polka-dots.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"470\" height=\"415\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/polka-dots.jpg 470w, https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/polka-dots-300x265.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 470px) 100vw, 470px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Fabrics:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The solid coloured blue fabric is a medium weight polyester and rayon fabric is great for pants, skirts and dresses. Called &#8220;Tracy&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/fabricville.com\/search?type=product&amp;q=ER309*\">Product # ER309<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fabric Width: 55-58 inch (140-147 cm)<\/li>\n<li>Fabric Care: Hand wash<\/li>\n<li>Contents: 50% polyester 50% rayon<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>That awesome white with co-ordinating polka-dots is a blend of linen and rayon with medium weight is soft which gives a fluid drape. V neck finished with facing, cap sleeve and optional keyhole back (required for kids sizes, optional in adult sizes). The diagonal seaming allows you to do some fun color blocking and mock crossover effect. View B is finished with an encased elastic at the bottom. View A: Hemmed at ankle length<br \/>\nView B: Elasticized cuffed hem UPC Code: 2003676<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-7222\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/jalie-pattern-pant.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"274\" height=\"359\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/jalie-pattern-pant.jpg 624w, https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/jalie-pattern-pant-229x300.jpg 229w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 274px) 100vw, 274px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>My Personal Adjustments:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;d previously sewn both of these so I had already made my personal adjustments to each pattern.\u00a0 At 5 ft 10 inches, I ALWAYS add body length.\u00a0 On<strong> Alice<\/strong> I added 1 inch to the bottom.\u00a0 I also do a round shoulder adjustment to the back.\u00a0 On <strong>Vanessa<\/strong> I added 3\/4&#8243; to the rise, which involved the front, back and both pocket pieces.\u00a0 I posted a how-to video on youtube, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=yGTK-yAWJkQ\"><strong>click here to view it. <\/strong><\/a>I also reduce the back crotch width by 1\/2 to fit my flat behind.\u00a0 These are not difficult to do, and are worth it to get a flattering and comfortable fit.<\/p>\n<p><strong>My Personal Review:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I find it really difficult to purchase fabric on-line.\u00a0 In a perfect world I wander around a fabric store, looking and touching anything that appeals to me.\u00a0 I shop by colour and feel, and am an impulse buyer when it comes to fabric.\u00a0 Keeping that in mind, I find that the fabric description on Jalie patterns is very accurate.\u00a0 So were the fabric descriptions on Fabricville&#8217;s website, making it easy to choose the correct type of fabric for these garments.\u00a0 My biggest worry was colour.\u00a0 I worried that the polka-dots wouldn&#8217;t be the right shade to match the solid.\u00a0 As you can see, it wasn&#8217;t a problem.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll enjoy wearing this outfit well into the summer and fall.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A bit about me:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>My name is Yvette Chilcott.\u00a0 \u00a0I started a successful sewing machine dealership in the 1980&#8217;s, where classes were the backbone of my business.
