And it&#8217;s SOOOOOO cozy and soft!\u00a0 It&#8217;s perfect for Karine.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-7961 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/blue-plaid.png\" alt=\"Brushed\u00a0 Plaid Knit in Tranquil Blue SKU: KR2401-007.\" width=\"651\" height=\"596\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/blue-plaid.png 651w, https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/blue-plaid-300x275.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 651px) 100vw, 651px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-7962 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/DSCN0332-2.jpg\" alt=\"Cozy dressing with Karine over a Dolman made with the leftovers.\" width=\"278\" height=\"378\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/DSCN0332-2.jpg 278w, https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/DSCN0332-2-221x300.jpg 221w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 278px) 100vw, 278px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">It&#8217;s a large plaid so I took my time laying out the pattern pieces.\u00a0 I wanted to match up the plaid perfectly!\u00a0 And I did a pretty good job, check out this pocket!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-7963 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/perfect-pocket-placement.jpg\" alt=\"perfectly matching pocket\" width=\"527\" height=\"436\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/perfect-pocket-placement.jpg 527w, https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/perfect-pocket-placement-300x248.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 527px) 100vw, 527px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Some tips for sewing with this soft stretchy knit:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>use a stretch needle (I used a Schmetz 75\/11) and polyester thread<\/li>\n<li>If you have a serger, use it<\/li>\n<li>use a glue stick to fuse the beginning of the seams together if you&#8217;re serging<\/li>\n<li>I serge finished the hem and sleeve bottoms, then used a &#8220;lightning stitch&#8221; to hem them.<\/li>\n<li>I used snaps instead of buttons and buttonholes.<\/li>\n<li>I fused a strip of knit interfacing to the inside of each pocket top before I stitched them down to prevent gaping.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Vanessa Pant<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-7959 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Vanessa-front-cover.png\" alt=\"Front cover of Jalie's Vanessa sewing pattern\" width=\"546\" height=\"692\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Vanessa-front-cover.png 546w, https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Vanessa-front-cover-237x300.png 237w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 546px) 100vw, 546px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Vanessa is a pull-on pant with flat front, back darts and GREAT front pockets.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">When I read the description of the black stretch twill suiting I planned to make a different pair of pants than Vanessa, but when the fabric arrived it did not have quite enough stretch.\u00a0 So Vanessa it was. The fabric is probably a little heavier than the pattern suggests, but the end result is great.\u00a0 These hold their shape very well and feel dressy, but not summery.
