Cool and Cozy, the Cool Part<\/h1>\n

Jalie designs the BEST patterns.\u00a0 They’re as modern as purchased garments, multi sized (often with 27 sizes) and with really cool details.\u00a0 Recently I sewed up a cool and cozy ensemble. \u00a0 Flat-front, high waisted leggings #3887 Clara in basic black\u00a0 and a raglan sleeved tunic length pullover\u00a0 #4346 Caroline in a cozy chenille knit.<\/p>\n

Cool and Cozy the Cozy Part<\/h2>\n

The fabrics were supplied by Fabricville in return for me sewing up the garments and writing this blog post.\u00a0 I’m glad I did, because this became an outfit I plan to wear often.\u00a0 Below is a photo of the fabrics and the thread, as it arrived.<\/p>\n

\"Cool<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The black legging fabric is a Modal and spandex knit<\/a>.\u00a0 It has a comfortable medium weight and is warm when it’s cold and cool when it’s hot.\u00a0 Let me tell you; they feel so good on my skin that I could wear them all the time, even under my jeans in the winter.\u00a0 The cozy pullover is a medium weight knit fabric that is soft and stretchy for comfort and ease<\/a>. Perfect for dresses, skirts, sweaters, cardigans, tops and more!<\/p>\n

Cool and Cozy, the Clara Legging Details<\/h3>\n

For the leggings, mine are full length, with 3 inches added above the knee to accommodate my long legs.\u00a0 I made view B without the yoke.\u00a0 These go smoothly up to my waist with full coverage, and NO CENTER FRONT SEAM!\u00a0 I used my serger for most of the assembly so the inner seams are smooth against my skin.<\/p>\n

Cool and Cozy, the Caroline Pullover Details<\/h4>\n

For the top, I chose view B, the tunic length featuring long sleeves, a funnel neck, and two hip pockets that can easily be worn with my favorite leggings (Jalie’s Clara).\u00a0 Both views have a comfortable raglan sleeve.\u00a0 Notice the way the sleeve seam lines continue up into the collar!\u00a0 The side seam pockets lay smoothly with no lumps.<\/p>\n

I did not cut the bottom band as a separate piece, instead, I lengthened the body by the same amount.\u00a0 Then I turned up a hem to bring it back to the original length.\u00a0 \u00a0The weight of the deeper hem means the pullover hangs straight instead of pulling in around my back-side.<\/p>\n

The outside temperatures are almost cool enough to wear this cool and cozy outfit on a regular basis.<\/p>\n
