It is super soft and the <a href=\"http:\/\/fabricville.com\/en\/catalogsearch\/result\/?q=stretch+velvet\">colors are gorgeous<\/a>!! Let me just say&#8230;despite how dated it looks now&#8230;at the time I loved this dress. Husband bought it for me when we were dating and it remains a special memory for me.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Trends always seems to come back around&#8230; and velvet is the trend of the season and here I am in another green velvet dress. For my dress, I used <a href=\"http:\/\/fabricville.com\/en\/sewing-patterns\/mccall-s\/misses\/dresses\/m6885-misses-dresses-and-hat-size-8-10-12-14-16.html\">McCalls 6885<\/a>\u00a0after seeing a similar dress on Pinterest and then again on McCall Pattern Company&#8217;s Instagram.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/mccallpattern.mccall.com\/sites\/default\/files\/styles\/p_xl\/public\/products\/m6885\/M6885_a.jpg?itok=KGh3w8GG\" width=\"318\" height=\"437\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/1229\/3334\/products\/emerson-fry-velvet-shirtdress-b-4_grande.jpg?v=1476977509\" alt=\"Velvet Shirtdress - Black\" width=\"265\" height=\"398\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The inspiration dress has a satin placket and collar so I set out to find the perfect matching satin. I found this <a href=\"http:\/\/fabricville.com\/en\/catalogsearch\/result\/?q=Grace+satin\">Grace Satin<\/a> in hunter green. I admit that it took a bit of patience to combine these two fabrics but I worked out in the end&#8230;well sorta&#8230;there are a few puckers here and there but I can live with them because they aren&#8217;t as noticeable in person. And I can put up with them because this dress is soooo comfortable and soft!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-993 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/IMG_2506-3-683x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"683\" height=\"1024\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/IMG_2506-3-683x1024.jpg 683w, https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/IMG_2506-3-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/blog.fabricville.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/IMG_2506-3-755x1133.jpg 755w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 683px) 100vw, 683px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">A closer look at the buttons&#8230;I love that these are fancy but subtle at the same time.
